How exactly do the THOMAS models differ and which is the perfect model according to my needs?

The main differences between the various models are their filtration - water filter technology (AQUA+ Pet & Family, perfect air allergy pure) or both water and cyclone filter technology (DryBOX Amfibia, CYCLOON HYBRID Family & Pets) and the included accessories.


Are you looking for a hoover that you can use exclusively for vacuuming?

Then opt for perfect air allergy pure or CYCLOON HYBRID Family & Pets. Whilst perfect air allergy pure is the basic version of the THOMAS range with its unique water filtration technology, CYCLOON HYBRID Family & Pets offers both THOMAS filter options: water filtration technology and cycolone technology. Both vacuums can absorb liquids when using the AQUA filter box. With the AQUA filter box you also get rid of odours. The benefit of CYCLOON HYBRID Family & Pets comes with the included accessories: These contain special pet hair nozzles that makes house cleaning a lot easier, particularly in households with pets. perfect air allergy pure is opposite perfect for allergic persons. It comes along with a mattress nozzle for getting rid of dust mites.

FAQ - GUARANTEE FOR THOMAS PRODUCTS


How long is the guarantee on a THOMAS hoover?

THOMAS provides a 2-year manufacturer's warranty on all appliances. When registering your product, THOMAS grants an additional 6 months free warranty extension. Registration can be done via the THOMAS product registration website.


What is covered by the guarantee?

Independent of the warranty obligations of the dealer under the sales contract, we guarantee the unit accord-ing to the conditions below:

1. The warranty period is 24 months – calculated from the day of delivery to the first end user. This period is limited to 12 months for commercial use or equivalent operational demands. To pursue a claim, proof of purchase must be submitted.

2. Within the warranty period we will rectify all substantial functional inadequacies which are verifiable ue to faulty design or material defects by either repairing the defective parts or replacing them at our option; the exchanged parts then become our property. The guarantee does not extend to easily broken parts such as glass, plastic, lights. Defects are to be reported to us immediately upon detection within the warranty period. During the warranty period, the spare parts needed to rectify the malfunctions as well as the labour costs incurred will not be billed. In the case of unwarranted claims against our customer service centre, the costs incurred will be charged to the customer. Repair work at the customer’s location or installation site can only be requested in the case of large units. Other units are to be sent to our near-est customer service centre, authorised repair shop, or to the factory.

3. There is no warranty obligation in the case of minor deviations from product specifications which are not relevant to the value or usability of the product due to damage from chemical, electro-chemical or aqueous effects or damage generally resulting from abnormal ambient conditions. In addition, warranty claims are invalid for damage that is a consequence of normal wear and tear, as well as in the case of failure to adhere to the user manual and improper use.

4. Any claim under warranty is also void if persons not authorised by us undertake any changes or repairs of the unit.

5. Warranty services neither extend nor renew the warranty period for the unit or any installed replacement parts: the warranty period for installed replacement parts ends along with the warranty period for the entire unit.

6. Additional or other claims, particularly those for compensation for damages caused outside of the unit – providing there is no legally stipulated liability for this – are excluded.

We also offer you our customer service beyond the expiry of your warranty period. Please consult your dealer or contact our customer service department directly.

What is my guarantee certificate?

It is important that you keep your proof of purchase (receipt) properly as this is also your guarantee certificate. Also if you have activated your free guarantee, keep the confirmation of your product registration which you receive by email.


FAQ - VACUUMING WITH WATER FILTRATION TECHNOLGY (AQUA filter box)


With how much water should the AQUA filter box be filled?

Only 1 litre of tap water is sufficient.


Can the AQUA filter box be filled with hot water?

No, please do not fill in hot water. We recommend using hand-warm water in order to avoid damaging the AQUA filter box.


Is it possible to add fragrances such as essential oils to the AQUA filter box?

We do not recommend the use of fragrances such as essential oils, as these may affect the plastic parts of the AQUA filter box.

When vacuuming, approximately what is the capacity of one litre of water?

For normal dust levels, we recommend changing the water after approx. 30 minutes of continuous operation. For higher dust volumes (e.g. intensive cleaning or first use), the water may have to be changed earlier.


How much water can the AQUA filter box take?

Concerns models DryBOX Amfibia and AQUA+ Pet & Family. Once the fresh water tank has been filled to approx. 2.6 litres, we recommend emptying the dirty water tank. When using the washing function, please be sure to use the white swash insert.


What is the white swash insert for?

The function of the swash insert is to prevent the appliance from overflowing when using the spray extraction function. If there is too much water in the AQUA filter box, the swash insert stops the intake of water and switches the appliance off automatically (AQUA-stop function).


What is the difference between the AQUA filter box and the CYCLOON filter box?

The most important difference is that the CYCLOON filter box can only be used for dry vacuuming, while the AQUA filter box can be used for dry vacuuming and washing. Further advantages of the AQUA filter box: it refreshes the air, small amounts of liquid can be absorbed. We recommend to use the AQUA filter box for a deep clean. Vacuuming with water filtration technology is particularly beneficial for allergy sufferers. The CYCLOON filter box, on the other hand, is perfect for in-between vacuuming. Both filter boxes can be emptied contactless and without dust formation.


Can I use a dust bag instead of the AQUA or CYCLOON filter box?

Yes, you can also use a dust bag instead of the AQUA and cyclone filter box. In terms of sustainability and for cost reasons, we clearly recommend using the filter boxes.


FAQ - WET CLEANING WITH THOMAS VACUUMS


How much water does the fresh water tank hold?

The fresh water tank holds 2.6 litres of fresh tap water.


Can the fresh water tank be filled with hot water?

No, please do not fill with hot water. We recommend using hand-warm water for all surfaces which are to be cleaned in order to avoid damaging the fresh water tank.


How much cleaning solution is needed?

We recommend 20 ml of cleaning concentrate per litre of water. For a full fresh water tank, the addition of 50 ml cleaning solution is recommended.


How many square metres of surface can be cleaned with one tank filling?

For carpet cleaning approx. 6 m² For hard floor cleaning approx. 8 - 12 m². The coverage is highly dependent on the working method, depending on how much water is applied to the surfaces which are to be cleaned.


What can be wet cleaned?

Suitable for:

Carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, car seats, mattresses, hard floors such as PVC, vinyl, stone and tiled floors.

Delicate laminate, parquet and wooden floors can be wet-cleaned with all models that include the parquet cleaning nozzle (DryBOX Amfibia).


Not suitable for:


Leather upholstery, silk and colourfast carpets.

Please always follow the manufacturer's care instructions.

How long does it take for carpets, upholstery, mattresses etc. before they are completely dry?

Usually, you can walk on the carpet again after approx. 2-3 hours. The room should be well ventilated during the drying time. However, ensure that not too much liquid is used. Always spray and vacuum in one go.


FAQ - CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF VACUUM AND ACCESSORIES


How do I clean the AQUA filter box of my THOMAS hoover?

The AQUA filter box must be cleaned after each use. Please carry out the following steps:


1. Open the lid of the AQUA filter box, pour off the dirty water through the outlet, close the lid of the AQUA filter box.

2. Fill the AQUA filter box half full with clean water.

3. Swivel the AQUA filter box so that the clean water touches all dirty surfaces inside.

4. Open the lid of the AQUA filter box, pour off the dirty water through the outlet, close the lid of the AQUA filter box.


If your AQUA filter box is heavily soiled, clean all components of the AQUA filter box with clean, warm water. Allow all parts to dry completely.


What can I do if the AQUA filter box has not been cleaned properly and an unpleasant odour has developed?

Fill the box with hand-warm soapy water and leave the dirt residues to be soaked for a longer period of time. Then use warm soapy water to wash the box thoroughly.


Are there any tips on how to clean and dry the THOMAS tubes hoses?

It is best to rinse the hoses with hand-warm water after every wet cleaning. To do so, pour fresh water into a container and simply soak it up. This ensures that no hair or dirt remains in the hose. If you want to vacuum and wet clean, make sure you vacuum first and start wet cleaning afterwards, otherwise there may be deposits left in the wet hose.


How can I clean the turbo brush properly? Can it be unclicked by hand? What do I do if hair gets caught in the brush?

Concerns AQUA+ Pet & Family and CYCLOON HYBRID Family & Pets. The rotating brush can be cleaned by hand. There are locking mechanisms at the top of the brush on the left and right that can be opened. If hair gets caught in the brush, it can be carefully pulled out by hand or cautiously cut with a pair of small nail scissors. After cleaning, the cover can be closed again.


Can the accessories be cleaned in the dishwasher?

It is generally possible to clean the AQUA filter box, attachments and nozzles in the dishwasher. However, we do not recommend this for hygienic reasons. While the box is a kind of cleaning bucket, the accessories are items that come into contact with dirt when vacuuming. In addition, all parts could be damaged if the washing process is too hot.


FAQ - INSTRUCTIONS AND USE OF THOMAS ACCESSORIES


How often do the filters need to be changed?

The HEPA filter is washable. It therefore only needs to be replaced when it is heavily soiled, can no longer be cleaned or the suction power is noticeably reduced. With normal use, we recommend changing the HEPA filter after 6 to 12 months.


Are special cleaning solutions required?

Concerns DryBOX Amfibia and AQUA+ Pet & Family. Please only use the specially designed cleaning concentrates from THOMAS. These are defoamed and contain no adhesives. They have been specially developed for THOMAS wash and vacuum machines. Only when using the original THOMAS cleaning concentrate we guarantee optimal function and best cleaning results.
